Vicky Clayton (Churchwarden)
I have been a member of St. Mary's Church since my baptism here when
I was 6 weeks old. My parents were married here and when a child,
my mother would attend services at St. Mary's with her grandmother.
My family have lived in George Green since the 1890's.
I am a Church Warden and one of the "8 o'clockers"; I also help quite a
bit with behind-the-scenes administration as well as taking part in services
at The Pines and Oak House Care Home.
I enjoy spending time in my garden, ( plenty of ideas but not much stamina),
and trying to make friends with a stray cat who has moved in. Also, I knit
and crochet a little, read a little, write a little; love Excel Spreadsheets, the
sound of the rain, and dabble in very amateur photography, putting some of
my pictures on the front of the weekly Newsletter which I collate.
Until lockdown I enjoyed helping the children at the local primary school to
care for their gardens, raised beds and the large polytunnel.
One of my most favourite things is walking along the seashore, alone,
in the very early morning when there is nobody else around.
I don't say much but I can listen.....
